Extend Battery Life. Reduce Charging. Stay Protected.
The ADC-VACC-SP4W is designed specifically for Alarm.com’s battery-operated camera, the ADC-V731B. This 4W solar panel helps maintain the camera’s battery level and, in low-traffic areas, can significantly reduce — or even eliminate — the need for manual recharging.
At St. Louis Alarm Company, we recommend this accessory for customers installing the V731B in high sunlight areas to maximize long-term performance.
Why Add the VACC-SP4W?
-
Helps maintain battery charge year-round
-
Ideal for lower-traffic areas with fewer motion events
-
Reduces maintenance and ladder climbs
-
3-meter (9.85 ft) cable allows flexible placement
-
Maintains IP65 weather resistance when connected
When connected to the V731B, the USB-C connector creates a water-tight seal, preserving both the camera and panel’s IP65 rating.
To protect battery longevity, the solar panel will not charge the camera above 80% capacity. This smart charging limit helps extend the long-term life of the lithium battery.
Installation & Positioning Tips
For best performance:
-
Face the panel south (in the northern hemisphere).
-
Mount at approximately a 45-degree angle for optimal sunlight capture.
-
Adjust tilt seasonally if needed.
-
Avoid shade from trees, rooflines, or nearby structures.
The adjustable mount allows 360° rotation and 180° tilt, giving you flexibility to optimize sun exposure.
